Steel properties
Chromium-molybdenum alloy steel with 1% of vanadium with high red strength. This steel is suitable for vacuum hardening and suface treatments such as nitriding, PVD treatment (titanium nitrides), etc.

Produced as EFS SUPRA ( vacuum arc or electro-slag remelted) this steel is guaranteed to give a high mirror polish. It is suitable for vacuum hardening and surface treatments such as nitriding, titanium nitrieds, etc.
 
Applications
Pressure casting moulds, hot extrusion tools, press dies, die inserts, moulds, extruder screws and sleeves for working plastics.

Produced as EFS SUPRA ( vacuum arc or electro-slag remelted): forging dies, inserts for injecting plastic materials requiring high polish, inserts and moulds for pressure casting of light alloys.
 
Heat treatment
Hardening from   1020-1050°C
in   Air, vacuum, oil at 80°C
or hot bath at 500-550°C
